Because of this, since the day we heard about you, we haven’t stopped praying for you and asking for you to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will, with all wisdom and spiritual un-derstanding. We’re praying this so that you can live lives that are worthy of the Lord and pleasing to him in every way: by producing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God; by being strengthened through his glorious might so that you endure everything and have patience; and by giving thanks with joy to the Father. ~
What a joy it is to be with you at First United Methodist Church of Mexia! I am so proud and honored to be called by God to this faith community. As Paul writes in his letter to the Colos-sians, both Todd and I have been praying for this church since we learned of our appoint-ment. Being in worship on Sunday, I could feel the Spirit swirling around us as we began our journey together. Fed by one loaf, we joined together as Christians have done for centuries, in the nourishment of communion.
I know over the next few months and weeks, we will begin the joyful process of beginning to know one another, building a relationship of faith and trust in God. I am a lover of stories, and I cannot wait to hear all of the wonderful ways that Christ has been working in your lives. I look forward to hearing your dreams for the future. For those of you I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, I pray God will let our paths cross soon. For those of you that have helped us get acquainted with the community, I offer my humblest of thanks.
As we move forward in faith together, know that I will continue to lift all of you in prayer. Let us continue the good work that God has begun in us! Let us bring heaven to earth as we continue to show God’s presence in the community through love and joy!
Peace and passion,
